Ronnie Dreistadt is currently the Manager of Education Services at the Kentucky Derby Museum; directing the museum’s educational efforts both in-house and throughout the Commonwealth through the outreach program.  After giving tours for one summer in 1995, he turned a summer job into a career that is now in its 24th year.  He has become an expert on Kentucky Derby history and his first book, “Lost Bluegrass: The History of a Vanishing Landscape” was published in 2011. Another Derby related book, “Shadows of Spires: Legends, Haunts and Lore of the Kentucky Derby” is scheduled for release in 2020.
Dreistadt earned his Bachelor of Arts in American History from Indiana University Southeast and a Master of Arts in Education from Spalding University. 
Dreistadt resides in New Albany, Indiana with his three children:  Jacqueline (12), Caleb (10) and Mary Kate (7).
