International Trademark Association (INTA)
Scot Duvall has represented clients in the field of trademarks and intellectual property for nearly 30 years, in pre-litigation disputes, as well as litigation and appeals in the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board and the federal courts.  Active in the leadership of the International Trademark Association (INTA) for many years, he has participated in “friend of the court” briefs in significant cases, served on INTA task forces, and is a past board member of the INTA PAC.  Scot has been appointed to serve on INTA’s Trademark Office Practices Committee for the upcoming term.  He was a principal drafter of the federal Trademark Dilution Revision Act (signed into law in 2006).

An honoree of Best Lawyers in America®, Chambers USA®, and Kentucky Super Lawyers® in his field, a significant amount of Scot’s practice centers on strategic brand development, clearance, and enforcement; trademark registration in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for U.S.-based and international companies; and negotiation of intellectual property (IP) licenses and agreements.  Scot has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, lectured widely, and published numerous articles on trademark and copyright law, the Internet, and first amendment issues.
